GABBA is Proud to bring you Jack Pearson and Friends!
As you all know Jack Pearson is a phenomenal guitarist who
played with the Allman Brothers Band for two years. He was the guitarist for the
last ABB Fox run back in 1998. Oteil Burbridge has described Jack's ability to
play as “genius” and I must agree. If you have ever heard Jack sustain a note
for almost half a minute you know what I mean. He also has played with Jimmy
Buffett, Delbert McClinton, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Ronnie Milsap, Faith Hill, Ann
Womack, Johnny Neel, Shelby Lynn, Jimmy Hall, and Lee Roy Parnell just to name a
few.
People who attended the 1999 GABBAfest can tell
you Jack Pearson and the Nationals were mind blowing that year. As you know,
Jack will have a lot of friends in Atlanta that weekend, and the show should be
one for the record books. Jack’s band will consist of Jack on guitar, Elizabeth
Pearson (Jack’s wife) on bass, Jim White on drums and Dennis Wage on keyboards.
Jack and Elizabeth are two of the nicest persons you'll ever meet. So don’t miss
your chance to meet them in person Saturday afternoon at the Cotton Club. For

More on The
Jack Pearson Band
Jack Pearson is best known
for his lead and slide guitar playing as a member of the Allman Brothers
Band from 1997 to 1999. In past years, he has also worked with Delbert
McClinton, Groove Holmes, Shelby Lynne, Dan Penn and others too numerous to
mention. His songs have been recorded by such artists as Gregg Allman, Tracy
Nelson, the Allman Brothers Band, Jimmy Hall, Gov’t Mule, and Lee Roy
Parnell. And his guitar playing has been featured on studio albums by Jimmy
Buffett, Gregg Allman, Chris LeDoux, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Mac McAnally, and
Jimmy Hall, among others.
The Jack Pearson Band is
a blues/rock/funk band with a touch of jazz. Band members include Dennis
Wage on keyboards (T. Graham Brown, Faith Hill, David Allen Coe, Delbert
McClinton, Lee Roy Parnell), Jim White on drums (Maynard Ferguson, Joey
DeFrancesco, John Hiatt, Bela Fleck, Randy Brecker, Cornell Dupree) and
Elizabeth Pearson on bass (Jim Horn, Jimmy Hall, Chet Atkins, The
Nationals). The group’s sound is drawn from each member’s diverse musical
background with a lot of improvisation and jamming going on. The band
performs original material from Jack’s three CD’s, “Step Out!” “Jack
Pearson” and “William Howse & Jack Pearson.”
“Anyone who’s caught
Pearson live knows he can flat burn,” says Music Row Magazine.
According to the Nashville Scene, he has “quietly earned a national
reputation as the guitarist of choice when someone needs a mature, tasteful
picker with a broad knowledge of blues, jazz, and soulful rock.” Blues
Revue calls him a “world-class guitarist...Nashville’s most unassuming
musician.” Rolling Stone Magazine brags on his “light touch and
fluid, jazzy style...and dynamic slide playing.” And Real Blues Magazine
hails him as “one of the best blues/rock guitarists on the scene today.”
