Special Rates for GABBAfest at the Crowne Plaza in Macon

Once again the good folks at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Macon have offered us a great deal on rooms for GABBAfest. When you call for reservations just mention that you are with Georgia Allman Brothers Band Association and that you would like the special rate of $69 + tax per night. This rate is good for single or double occupancy. This rate expires September 10, 2003 so make your reservations now. To make a reservation you can call the hotel directly at 478-746-1461 or call the Toll Free number at 1-800-227-6963. If you have any problems making a reservation please notify us immediately at gabba1@bellsouth.net before you make any other arrangements.

The Douglass Theatre will host all main events of GABBAfest other than those at The Big House on Vineville Avenue throughout the weekend and at Rose Hill Cemetery on Sunday.

H&H Restaurant
While in Macon, make sure to visit Mama Louise at the famous H & H restaurant. Located at 807 Forsyth St across from the Medical Center. Mama will be cooking up her down-home vittles for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday until 5 PM, but she's closed on Sunday because she's at church. Come into her kitchen and give her a big hug for feeding our boys when they needed it the most.

Camper and RV Accomodations
RVers might like to know that Central City Park, a stone's throw from the Douglas, does have sites with full hook ups. If you want to post this information, the phone number is 478-751-9282 and the contact name is Janis Wright. You can also email your reservation requests to Ben.Hamrick@macon.ga.us. The cost is $15.00 per night and you have to be there before they close on Friday at 5:30pm to pay.

Camping is also available at Lake Tobesofkee, but it is nearly 15 miles west of Macon and is not recommended, although scenic.
