Locks of Love / “Almost Cut my Hair”

For several years, GABBA has sponsored an event at GABBAfest called “Almost Did Cut my Hair”. “Almost Cut my Hair” is a famous rock song by Crosby, Stills & Nash. We will have volunteers, both men and women, both hippies and not, who will get up on the stage of the Douglass Theatre and have their hair cut to benefit the Locks of Love Foundation. This can be a very harrowing experience for those who have not had their hair cut in long time, and in the past we have seen many varied reactions. Some will never do it again, and some have done it more than once. It is a very interesting, and yes, sometimes entertaining, segment of our festival, and it goes to a very good cause. The hair is used to make wigs for children who suffer from a disease that causes their hair to fall out. So if you haven’t had a haircut in a while, and would like to volunteer, we will give you a free cut that will be witnessed by the GABBAfest audience. We usually do this event at 6 PM on Saturday night.
